New List Serve on Corporate Accountability and Human Rights (in Spanish)

The Center for Human Rights and Enviornment (CEDHA) in Argentina launched a Corporate Accountability and Human Rights List Serve, to function primarily in Spanish, and with a view to promote exchanges of information regarding corporate behavior and its impacts on human rights.

CEDHA is extremely concerned with the still urgent necessity of companies, including many prized for CSR achievements, to focus on their human rights  impacts. This includes for example, considering impacts of their production processes to human health, security and physical integrity of employees, supply chain related human rights violations, discrimination, child and forced labor, the impacts on communities of emissions and toxic waste, and the repression that sometimes occurs by private security guards hired to protect companies.

The Spanish language List Serve will promote debate on issues such as:

  • evolution of corporate social and environmental norms regulations, and laws;
  • corporate human rights indicators;
  • civil society monitoring of corporations, and related human rights;
  • measuring corporate human rights impacts (HRIAs);
  • the UN Human Rights Norms for TNCs;
  • human rights and the banking sector;
  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Corporations;
  • Equator Principles
  • Human Rights Policies;

The invitation to participate is open to all actors, including NGOs, corporations, academics, and government;
