Global Governance Program

Mission

To promote, strengthen and monitor good governance in local and international institutions with respect to Human Rights and Environmental Protection. Special emphasis is placed on the creation and use of innovative policies, resources and access to justice mechanisms.

  • Global: Improving the responsibility and transparency of international institutions such as the UN, OAS, World Trade Organisation, MERCOSUR, International Financial Institutions, Export Credit Agencies, Multinational Enterprises and Governments
  • Governance: Creating, strengthening, implementing and improving regulations that govern international and national institutions that incorporate environmental and human rights norms.
  • Program: Identifying, actualising, representing and building capacity for key actors, institutions and persons directly or indirectly affected by local or international institutions.

The Global Governance Program works to strengthen and guarantee human rights and the protection of the environment through the promotion of effective and greater participation, access to information and strategic intervention by civil society and affected communities in the development of public policies and in decision making processes at local and international levels. Our work covers governments, intergovernmental institutions, international financial institutions, local forums and initiatives of civil society. We work to strengthen, modify, create and promote public policies in accordance with institutional transparency and sustainable development.
